Saving the festival Brno reads Bruno

“Someone must have been telling lies about Josef K., he knew he had done nothing wrong but, one morning, he was arrested.” These are the opening words of The Trial by Franz Kafka, one of the two patrons of this year’s Brno Reads Bruno festival. “Someone must have been telling lies about the Bruno reads B. festival because it did not receive enough financial support, even though its organisers had done nothing wrong and had submitted eight grants to the institutions that had supported them in previous years.” Is that too much of a Kafkaesque thing to say? Not this year, unfortunately.

We are very grateful for the kind and generous support we’ve received from the Faculty of Arts and the Rector of Masaryk University. Unfortunately, it won’t cover all the costs. Therefore, without your equally kind and generous financial support in the Donio fundraising campaign, the final Kafkaesque execution will take place – but instead of heads, we’ll be cutting off the festival. If you can, please help us save a small festival with a big heart: https://donio.cz/zachrana-brno-cte-bruna
